Web Numbers

This sounds like it could be mind-blowing (but at least understandable to web geeks)!

“Domains? Where we’re going, we don’t need domains! Until the end of this year, the only way to have a secure web site is to have it accessible via a domain name. That, however, is changing. And the design of the Small Web will be changing along with it. IP addresses are about to make a comeback on the web in a big (ok, small) way, thanks to upcoming support for security certificates for IP addresses by Let’s Encrypt.”

H2R Layouts: Designed for ATEM SuperSource and vMix

Quick shoutout to John Barker at Here to Record for his new app for creating “Super Source” layouts for the ATEM Extreme switchers…

Simplify building layouts. Create SuperSource macros or vMix virtual sets in seconds. With the H2R Layouts app you can directly connect to a Blackmagic Design ATEM switcher and directly control it’s SuperSource layout.

Bridgy Fed Config & Patreon

Somehow I missed the details on this, but better late than never – bridging your account is getting easier…

Today, we’re launching two projects we’ve been excited to unveil for a while: a settings page for Bridgy Fed and a Patreon for all the folks who have asked us how they can support our work. Let’s dive in!

CleanShot X for Mac Goes to 4.8

Just yesterday I had to cancel my SetApp subscription – can’t justify the cost for the one or two apps I mostly use – CleanShot X and Downie. So I went ahead and purchased the apps from the corresponding developer’s websites. As for Downie, it does what it does so well.

However, CleanShot X also continues to amaze! I started to use it way back in November of 2021 and they update the app quite regularly. I wasn’t expecting that, after purchasing it, the next day they would release some new features. Hello version 4.8! Just a solid screenshot program that is just so useful and worth every penny (there is a student/educator discount as well).

Capture your Mac’s screen like a pro.

Greetings From Wordland

This is a quick (somewhat geeky) post about using a service called Wordland, a writing tool that provides a proper text editor for writing posts instead of “tiny little boxes”. Dave has a little more on the idea behind Wordland at his site. It connects to your WordPress.com account and lets you post to whatever blogs you have set up. Mine is at andyrush.wordpress.com.

I had some difficulty using it in the Safari browser. I couldn’t get links to work which is pretty crucial on the web! Also, attempting to add an image resulted in, well, nothing. I’m using the Brave browser to write this.

Anyway, quick diversion. Back to our regular microblogging 🙂

Editors note: I had an error attempting to post directly to this micrblog. Wordland “sees” the site as an option to post to, but after trying several times, I went directly to the site to post this.
